Call for Papers and Posters

We are pleased to announce free paper and poster presentations for delegates, providing a platform to share your research, ideas, and innovations.

Categories

  • Research studies, clinical trials, case reports, and theoretical papers are welcome.
  • Presentations will be 8 minutes long, divided into 6 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for discussion.
  • A system of auto-cut will end presentations after the allocated time. A buzzer will go off 2 minutes before and at the end of the allocated time, after which all screens will go blank. Please strictly adhere to the time.
  • Presentations must be in Microsoft PowerPoint format (.pptx) with clear and legible photographs, tables, and graphs.
  • Delegates are requested to be on time at the presentation venue.
  • Certificates will only be given to participants who physically present their paper at the conference. Please carry your identity cards along with your delegate badge.
  • Presentation files should be emailed to ipsocon2024@gmail.com with the subject title "Free Paper" at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled time.

  • E-posters are similar to traditional paper posters but displayed on onsite e-poster stations. No physical posters will be displayed.
  • Screen time for each poster is a maximum of 30 minutes. The presenting author should be present at the site of their poster throughout the stipulated time.
  • Posters should be created using Microsoft PowerPoint in landscape orientation, one slide only, in a 16:9 ratio. Total size should not exceed 20MB.
  • The text should include Introduction, Aim, Methods, Results, Conclusion, and Acknowledgments, set out in a clear and logical manner with minimal reading matter.
  • Recommended font sizes and styles: Title: 50-60 pt, Authors and institutions: 30-36 pt, Main text: 32-36 pt, References/Bibliography: 24-32pt.
  • Videos and animations are not allowed in the posters.
  • Delegates are requested to be on time at the presentation venue.
  • Certificates will only be given to participants who physically present their poster at the conference. Please carry your identity cards along with your delegate badge.

A symposium is a focused session where a group of experts present on a specific topic within the conference theme. It allows for in-depth discussion and exchange of ideas.

Symposium requirements

  • Theme - The symposium must align with the overall conference theme of "Psychiatry in the Digital Era: Addictions to Advances."
  • Each symposium should have 2-4 presenters, including a designated chair/moderator.
  • Duration - Each symposium will last 60 minutes, including 5-10 minutes for audience discussion.
  • Content: The symposium should present a balanced and comprehensive overview of the chosen topic, including:
    • Background and context: Briefly introduce the topic and its relevance to psychiatry.
    • Research findings: Present recent research findings or clinical observations related to the topic.
    • Practical implications: Discuss how the findings can be applied in clinical practice or policy.
    • Future directions: Suggest areas for future research or exploration.
  • Format: Symposiums can include a combination of short presentations, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions.

Additional guidelines

  • Proposal: Submit a brief outline of the symposium, and a brief abstract.
  • Selection: Symposiums will be selected based on relevance to the conference theme, scientific quality, and the diversity of perspectives represented.
  • CVs: Include a brief CV (2 pages maximum) for each presenter, highlighting their expertise in the topic.
  • Benefits: Selected symposiums will receive prominent placement in the conference program and may be eligible for additional promotion.
  • Certificates: Will only be given to participants who physically present their symposium at the conference. Please carry your identity cards along with your delegate badges.

Submission Guidelines
General Requirements
  • All submissions must be original and not previously presented or published.
  • Each submission must include an abstract (maximum 250 words) and the names and affiliations of all authors.
  • Registration is a pre-requisite to present Paper/Poster/Symposia in the Conference.
  • Delegates are requested to be on time at the presentation venue.
  • Certificates will only be given to participants who physically present their paper at the conference. Please carry your identity cards along with your delegate badge.
  • Presentation files should be emailed to ipsocon2024@gmail.com with the subject title "Free Paper" at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled time.
Formatting Guidelines
  • Title: Should be concise and clearly reflect the content of the presentation.
  • Abstract: Must include objectives, methods, results, and conclusions with a maximum of 250 words.
  • Keywords: Include up to 5 keywords.
  • Font: Use Times New Roman, size 12.
  • File Format: Submit abstracts in Word format.

Review Process

All submissions will undergo a blind peer-review process. Selection will be based on relevance, originality, and scientific quality.

Scoring Criteria

Presentations will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Title and Abstract:
    • Clarity, relevance, and conciseness of the title and abstract.
    • Accurate reflection of the presentation's content and objectives.
  • Content:
    • Thoroughness and clarity of the presentation's core content.
    • For research studies: Clear presentation of research questions, methodology, results, and interpretation.
    • For case reports/series: Detailed and organized description of cases, including history, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
    • For other types: Appropriate structure and content based on the presentation type.
  • Discussion:
    • Analysis and interpretation of the findings/information presented.
    • Critical discussion of the implications for clinical practice, research, or policy.
    • Consideration of relevant literature and context
  • Conclusion:
    • Clear and concise summary of the key takeaways from the presentation.
    • Logical connection to the overall objectives and findings.
  • Originality/Novelty:
    • Unique contribution to the field of psychiatry or mental health.
    • Innovative approach or findings.
  • Quality of Visuals and Overall Presentation:
    • Clarity, organization, and relevance of figures, images, and other visual aids.
    • Effective use of slides/posters to enhance the presentation.
    • Overall professionalism and adherence to time limits.
  • Clarification/Q&A:
    • Ability to answer questions clearly and concisely.
    • Engagement with the audience and thoughtful responses

Tie Breakers:

Tie Breaker 1: Those who score high on criteria 2, 3, 4, and 5 will be ranked higher

Tie Breaker 2: In case of a tie in Tie Breaker 1, those who scored high in criterion 7 will get the prize.
